Where to get a facial?

Where to get a facial?

Hey girls,

I've had some good and bad experiences with facials. I want to try somewhere new and was thinking about trying Bliss Spa.

Any others that you recommend?

I love Majestic Salon and Spa in Seaford. Not sure where you are located though.

I've never had a facial at Bliss, only waxing, but I have heard great things about their skin care services. The most amazing facial place though, is a little known secret called Maria Badescu. Here My mom has been going there for like 20 years. A lot of high profile clientele! They have at least one location in NYC. Good luck!

I get facials every month and I go to Mario Badescu spa its like 65 for an hour and half facial, and my skin is better since going there.. they use all natural stuff in their products and its great... the other spa I used to go to is excellent too but more expensive its called Oasis Day Spa (and usually voted the #1 spa in NY) they use only dermalogica products.. excellent but pricey

I actually go to my dermatologist office every 6 weeks for one. They have an asthetician there on staff and it saves alot of money.

Well in Whitestone there is a great place called Body & Mind Spa. I've never had a bad experience and I think their pricing is fair.

One of my colleagues told me about Mario Badescu. I'm thinking of making an appt there in the next couple of weeks. I'm just afraid of looking blotchy afterwards, but she said she's never had any problems.

I just had my first facial done at Skin Deep in Melville....they were so nice and I really liked the place (not like I have much to compare it to).

I am actually going back in two weeks to try the chemical peel treatments.....

They are a vendor on here so check them out.

no you wont look blotchy, trust me because they use natural ingerdients.. your face will be fine. They really are great. If you are worried request a facial with Julia, she is the most soft handed when it comes to removing extractions and such

Re: Where to get a facial?

I just want to offer my opinion on Mario Madescu, because I used to go there a while ago... and I stopped. My facials were often rushed, the facialist leaves you alone for long periods of time because I think they are attending to other customers at the same time. When the put the steam on your face they put on these gloves to soften your hands, but then you can't really do anything and you have hot steam on your face and no one is in the room to adjust anything if you feel uncomfortable. They always tried to sell me something and I think were annoyed that they couldn't upsell me. And I know others on here have said that their facials don't leave them blotchy, but I was left really blotchy and had some breakouts.

I have been to many other spas. Bliss does a pretty good job, Shizuka is nice too but there is one great facialist and one not-so-great one and I never knew who I was going to get. My favorite is at the Ritz Carlton on Park Ave South but they are super expensive!!!!

Re: Where to get a facial?

I'm very partial, as my FMIL is an esthetician...but she really is AMAZING!!!! She has the best hands, and besides it being great for your skin, I always feel SUPER relaxed afterwards...she has a magic touch!! If you want her info, FM me...she's in Huntington.

Re: Where to get a facial?

PS, she's very reasonable since she has a room in her house. But also, I never leave her super blotchy...always a little pink and flushed (I always feel glowing when I leave!!) and the next day it usually brings out anything that was left behind, and after that my skin is perfect!!

I googled and found negative reviews - basically the same types of stuff that you just said.

That makes me a bit hesitant to try them.
