Re: where to get shoes
You'll be surprised, payless has some very nice shoes. Never heard of the place you mentioned..but then again I live in the Bronx. I brought my shoes online at shoebuy.com, but I know you dont want to go that route..so I guess Im not much help.

I did not like the man at Varones. I live right around the block from there too, so it would've been convenient. He was very condescending and was telling me I can't wear a silver shoe at my wedding. Um, it's my wedding, and i can wear what I want...

Wow that's terrible! Of course you can wear what you want. Why do people always feel that they can put their 2cents in? There was a lady there when I went and she was really nice and helpful.
Love My Shoes has several styles and a few locations throughout Long Island and Queens. You can look online first and then call customer service to find out which stores have the style and size you're interested in trying on.

casa de mario is a little bit on the pricey side....i tried on a few shoes there and they seemed 'aged'. like they were old. I ordered my shoes from zappos.com. there's a pic in my album.

I know! i am really getting very sick of hearing everyone's opinion about what I should do! It's different if I ask for it, but I don't!!

Re: where to get shoes
try on a bunch of shoes and see what height/type of shoe you like better. i don't know about you, but i'm only wearing mine for the ceremony and a little bit of the reception, then changing into sneakers, so i don't have to worry about them being too comfortable for too long. but you do want to make sure you can walk down the aisle.
i personally bought mine from lord and taylor. they were about 75 (25 off) which was reasonable, but i later found them online for 65. so even if you find something you like in the store, it can't hurt to search around online.

Re: where to get shoes
I got mine at Casa Di Mario and was very happy with them. They were very helpful and had a huge selection of shoes. I didn't mind paying the money because I could def wear them again. I would try there if you have the time.
