hi all im new to this and hoping i can find some help on here .... we are looking to have a ceremony outdoors but the gardens all have fees up to $1000.... my fiance is in the military and we are expecting in january all we want right now is a very small ceremony with immediate fam and best friends. we want to save as much as we can for the baby and the real wedding ( which i was promised will be a BIG one ) down the road. i live in babylon and would like some place fairly close... we are thinking of having the dinner afterwards at The Irish Coffee Pub, maybe a private room also... any ideas on a cute scenic place for a small ceremony?? Thanks in advance ladies!

Re: where to have small ceremony? no large fee
Call Hecksher (sp) Park in East Islip. When I was looking into having my wedding in the park or down by the beach they told me that the only cost to me would be the cost of each car to enter the park.
The phone number is 631 321 3515.

my girlfriend had her ceremony on sunken meadow beach and i think they just had to get a permit which wasnt that much... look up some beaches or state parks near you...
When i was looking into places to take pictures- a lot of state parks didnt even need any permits- you just went and took pics, so maybe you can even do a ceremony there for free.

Majestic Gardens has a beautiful garden.. IDK if they'd just let you do the ceremony there though

If you are planning on having something at the Irish Pub try asking them about doing an outdoor ceremony. I know David Tutera on the We channel did a nice ceremony outdoor there and it was just breathtaking.

thanks for all the ideas... i have an appt with the irish coffee pub tonight to discuss what they can accomodate.
you would think a small affair with 15 ppl would be easy right? wrong.. im hearing ' you cant do this... you should do that... that date doesnt work for me.... i dont like that idea, i wouldnt do that....' ... no matter if its 400 guests or 15, people will feel entitled to tell you what they want for YOUR wedding. i want to tell everyone to shut up and show up if they want ! bless all of you who are planning huge weddings, i dont think i have it in me!

The Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale is $100 and is beautiful.
