We just got engaged but is it too soon to register or should be wait until we at least have a date?

I registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Macy's. BBB is great because your guests will love shopping there with their coupons, and also they have an amazing return policy: return anything from your registry and you get CASH BACK. Macy's is great as well because they have a great incentive program. Different %'s back on the items bought.
I think you should maybe wait until you set a date, just because you need to fill that type of information in. You could always make up a fake date. We registered about two months after we got engaged... lots of people were asking us where we were registered for engagement gifts. It's not really necessary until your shower nears, but it's so much fun!

We're registered at BBB, Macy's, and Amazon.
You could register now, or you could wait until you have a date. We started our registries before we had a date, and used the date we wanted. Turns out, we were able to get that date so it worked out perfect!
ETA: If you do Macy's, make sure you have (or sign up for) their credit card and do the Star Rewards program. You get 5% back on all purchases from your registry, and 10% back on any purchases YOU make in the store at all.

so far ive had a great experience with BBB. I returned one item that was taken off my registry for cash and one item that was not for store credit.
Target is a pain in the butt though (have to go return a deluxe scrabble game there later today) How is it that we already have 3 copies of scrabble in this house?
