Where to shop for dresses under $1000

Hello Ladies! One of my best friends recently got engaged and is planning her wedding from Texas...
I am looking to get a list of bridal shops where she can go to find gowns for under $1000 as she is on a tight budget. She will be home next weekend to shop and hopefully buy her dress!

RK Bridal (www.rkbridal.com) theyhave the best prices and are in NYC.

Davids. But My dress only cost 700.00 and I bought it at Lilettes. I think you find them under 1000.00 at alot of places. I tried dress on at Rk bridal and they were less then 1000.00

I got mine at Bridal Suite of Centereach, got a discount on MOG dress b/c I bought mine there.

Just a thought since my sister planned her wedding for OOT. My sister got her dress near her home so she was close for the fittings in case there was a problem. She got her dress at a chain and they said she could bring it to the local store and they'd give it a quick press before the wedding.

ETA: Please do your research on David's before you got get a dress there- also do your homework on all the salons.

Lidia's in Copaigue. The place is beautiful, the service can't be beat and the prices are even better! I got everything, veil, dress and headpiece for under $900 that is with tax!

Commack Wedding Center. With tax and hollow-to-hem charge my dress was only $850. But that does not include alterations.

I found my dress in macys for well over 1000, but Burtons sold it to me for less than 800...
Burtons was great!

I have to second RK Bridal. I got my dress there for $800. Also I second Commack Wedding Center.

cathys bridal in lindenhurst!! greatest people ever (haha and my cousin) but they really are inexpensive and beautiful!!

I got mine at Bridal and Tuxedo Center in Shoreham. The sales ppl don't work on comission and were very helpful and honest. I only paid 490+tax for mine! Wish I was not at work so I could post a pic.
Its a small place but has a surprisingly big selection of stuff.

I bought my dress at David's for $575 and loved it. I ALMOST bought a 99$ one, which I also loved, but it would have had to have been taken out a bit, and they wouldn't give me an opinion on if it could be taken out enough, since they don't alter the $99 ones.
