Where to Start Looking For Dresses?

I'm starting to look for dresses but I've only looked at David's Bridal and some online websites. My ideal dress is something tea length that can flatter curvy women but I would love to go to some shops in person or check out some websites with a big array of dresses and accessories!

Try Bridal Reflections in Massapequa/ Carle Place, Kleinfeld and Village Bridal. I'm not sure if they would carry a huge selection of tea length dresses though, you might want to call and ask before you schedule an appointment. Good luck!

Village bridal in babylon was great everyone was so patient and helpful! I just went on Pinterest and got some dress pics I liked and I brought them.

I recommend going to a smaller place for the first time. It gives you the chance to not be rushed or overwhelmed and just get a feel for what style or look you're going for. I did this with my MOH a few months before going with my mom and sister. We went to Bridal Suite of Bay Shore and they had a lot of plus size samples, I tried all all different silhouettes and styles, ultimately I purchased from Helen's (who also has a great selection) and I think they would have been a great place to start too since it's no as crowded as the other places, and soo sweet too! Good Luck!

I think they are right with saying going to a small place and not being overwhelmed - I went to David's and when I made the appointment I was told not to be late and pick out what I wanted to try on line....Well I was there on time and my host was about 10+ mins late getting to me and I totally get it but then she was annoyed because when she asked if I knew what I wanted to see dress wise, I said you have it all in my fav on line I was told to do this ahead of time - she is like well lets walk around and see what you want to see. Right there I knew this wasn't the place for me. I then pulled them up on my phone and still did not try on what I wanted to - and she wondered why I wasn't excited over trying on the dresses.

I am going to try some of these other places suggested above.

Definitely agree try somewhere smaller. I went to David's and didn't have a great experience. I didn't like the bridal attendant AT ALL. I then went to The Bridal World in Baldwin and received such personal attention. Janine is THE BEST. I ended up buying my dress there, and it wasn't even the dress I went there looking to try on!

I went to the David's Bridal in Westbury (Source Mall) and our attendant Nicole was super sweet and helpful! She picked out a couple of nice dresses but I didn't want to immediately buy something. I just want to keep my options open. I will def check out all these options!!!!

NY Bridal Outlet in Farmingdale was awesome! They have so many dresses and such personalized attention. I had 2 women helping me pull dresses. They were so sweet and helpful and it was the best bridal experience I had!
