Those of you that have spent time in Disney world, what is your favorite resort? did you stay at one of the disney places or a local hotel? what do you recommend??
We are thinking of doing disney for our honeymoon (so we have something to do besides sit on a beach!)

I just got back, and we stayed at the Marriott Cypress Harbour. It's a timeshare, but I think you can also rent the place. It's less than 10 minutes from Disney, and has a more relaxed feel. It was GORGEOUS.

I've been to Disney on vacation twice. The first time we stayed in one of the Disney All Start Sports rooms. Not the most beautiful, but they do provide transportation to the Disney parks and if you go shopping in downtown Disney they have your bags delivered to your hotel. Can't remember excatly how much it costs but it was like 100 a night plus tax. The next time we went even cheaper and stayed at a Howard Johnson for like 40 a night. Hey, it provided a place to sleep and it was clean. If your budget allows, i recommed staying in one of the nicer Disney hotels. Can't rember the name of it, but the really nice one the monorail stops on seemed beautiful. Good luck.

Just got back tonight - have stayed at Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans, Wilderness Lodge & Yacht Club. We like WL the best.

I have only been to the disney resorts - boardwalk, port orleans, old key west and beach & yacht clubs. I like boardwalk best because of the pool & location.

Stay at Universal Studios! Their hotels are awesome - especially the Hard Rock!

I stayed at the Grand Floridian (amazing in every way) and the Polynesian (feels like you are in a tropical island somewhere). Both are very nice!

I live in Orlando so I have a lot of info on the Disney area. The Contemporary is one of my favs, along with the Beach Club. The Grand Floridan is absolutely breath taking. I also know some really nice hotels in the surrounding area, like the Wyndahm (sp?) Palace Resort and Spa is gorgeous. FM me if you need any more help.

Been to disney too many times to count : ).
My alltime favorite resort is the Polynesian. I stayed there for my honeymoon. The Wilderness Lodge is also very romantic and the Boardwalk is great because of location and its right by a few bars.
For moderately prices resorts my favorite is Port Orleans Riverside or the Caribbean Beach. I have never stayed offsite.
Any resort you choice will be wonderful!!! Enjoy.

We stayed at the polynesian years ago and loved it. Last year we stayed at the All Star Music. And loved it. I would Recomend this hotel if u are looking for a place to sit at the pool,sleep and spend most of ure time at the parks. We drove our car to Florida but decided to take the bus to all the parks. It picked u up rite in front of the hotel and dropped u off right in front of the gates at the parks. The bus came in when we went to pleasure Island one night and had a little to much to drink. U can Look online at disney world for pricing on all the hotels and tickets. We bought the ultimate park hopper which got us in to all the Disney parks as many times a day as we wanted.
