Be careful with the keys that week. We are getting married on 9/14 and we were going to go to Key West for our honeymoon. We were dealing with Travel Tom and he found out that there is a biker poker run that starts during that week. There will be around 10 thousand bikers their.
I got to the Jersey Shore every year for the 2nd weekend in September and there's always a biker event with over 10,00 bikers...it's kinda fun! Just a little noisy! But they usually have events that we check out...and you meet really cool people. May not be what you're looking for on your HM tho...

my FH and I stayed in a bed and breakfast last year...i will try and look it up for you. My FH is going to Key West next week..I will also find out where he is staying
Ok found it..We stayed at the Douglas House bed and breakfast..it was really nice...not too far from the main strip..you could walk...but far enough away from the drunken riff raff...they also have a small pool. www.douglashouse.com
We have stayed at the Key Lime Inn. They have cute little cottages adjacent to the main house. When you think of a place, try and stay within walking distance of Duval Street and Mallory Square as that is where everything happens and parking is a real pain (and pretty expensive!).
I used to spend at least one weekend a month in Key west. If you have any questions you can FM me. the last time I stayed I found a great suites hotel in OLD Town that was a great price. Its called Island City HOuse hotel.

FH and I went to Key West about 3 years ago. We stayed at the Hilton. I liked it a lot. It was right on the pier where there are people that do shows on the boardwalk /pier. I would def go there again if we go back.
