I live by Stony Brook and I was wondering if there are any place to take pictures besides the beach. I look at the Frank Melville Memorial Park which is very pretty. I was trying to get some other ideas.
Any suggestions...
I heard of a place in OAkdale off of Montauk Hwy but I can't remember the name.....

hey lovie- i think the place in oakdale you're thinking of is the arboretum-bay yard cutting arboretum- i heard its beautiful... my plan if it was nice out was to do the Setauket mill pond- my girlfriend took pics there and they were so pretty-

Bayard Cutting Arboretum is nice but it's on the south shore. Also, it's just a lot of trees and some water, not a whole lot else, which is fine if that's what you like. I happen to like more architectural structure and/or gardens. Would you consider going to the docks by Port Jefferson? Vanderbilt Mansion is also nice; that's where I'm hoping to go.

I love the Bayard Cutting Arboretum but it's on the south shore. What about the Vanderbuilt Mansion in Centerport.
