DR is not very far away..like 3 1/2- 4 hours..went to puerto plata in aug. and had a great time..i heard the beaches in punta cana was better tho.. a friend of mine went ot Aruba and their pictures were gorgeous~!

aruba! you will have a great time. many nice hotels but if you want all inclusive check out the occidental

I second this, went last almost 10 yrs ago but i have heard great things from people who stayed there recently. I also suggest Majestic Colonial in Dominican Republic (Punta Cana). That is where we got engaged but it was also the most relaxing vacation we have ever been on. We sat by the pool all day...It really depends on what you want to do.. Aruba has more nightlife and things to do... If you want to lounge around and just relax and stay on resort, go to D.R. Good Luck!!!!!

ITA!!! The weather is suppose to be great there that time of year and they have some beautiful resorts that are all inclusive.
