Hi Everyone! I'm looking for a place to vacation over a long weekend this summer. I'd prefer somewhere north of New York, on the coast, but I have no real idea what's out there? Anyone know of any great places? Thanks! :o)

I personally love Bar Harbor Maine, but it's a bit of a drive (but so worth it!)

Mystic, CT is nice especially convenient if you take the Orient Ferry from Orient Pt. , LI Newport, RI is beautiful - lots of seaside mansions, restaurants, beaches and B&Bs.
Other places in the Northeast over the summer -
Cape May, NJ (seaside, victorian destination),
Upstate NY - Niagara Falls.
Martha's Vineyard/Cape Cod area....

Newport, RI... I got engaged there this past August.. it was beautiful.. the town is so beautiful! You can also do some day trips from there as well

Boston is great. FH and I have been there many of times and it is so close to drive. We would recommend staying at the Omni Parker House. Awesome hotel right in the heart of Boston. You can walk to all the sites and attractions. We went there once in July and took the whale watching cruise out on the Harbor. They have Little Italy for some awesome food. We even saw a broadway show there in the Theater District.
