I know Kleinfeld's is known for their selection, but I couldn't get an appointment there until the end of the month and want to shop locally in the meantime. For those of you that have been many places, where on Long Island did you find the best selection and the best customer service?

Hey - I'm not exactly sure of your location, but I loved Lilette's in Bellmore. They had a decent selection - and everyone was SO helpful.

I think it depends on the brand names you like. For example, Helen's private collection in Commack has a nice selection of Maggie Sottero and Casablanca. I felt the service was good and they had many more dresses than I would have thought. It's in an industrial area so from the outside you wouldn't think they would be fully stocked.
I also went to Village Bridal in Babylon and the service was a little better but the selection was not great. After a while, I ran out of dresses to try.

I ended up buying my dress at Kleinfeld's but I went there last. I also went to Wedding Center in Commack to get an idea of what style dress i wanted to get. Then I went to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa (not a very large selection--the sales lady told me they did not have what I was looking for and should make an appointment at the Carle Place salon). My last stop before Kleinfeld's was Village Bridal in Babylon which had a wonderful selection and wonderful salespeople. I almost bought my dress there but I had an appointment at Kleinfeld's the next day...I was so happy I waited!!!

It depends on how picky you are and what type of dress you are looking for. I was looking for Trumpet and there were a ton of A-Line everywhere and a bunch of mermaid... If you have designers and syle numbers you'd like to try on then I'd suggest RK bridal in the city. You dont get much help there at all, I wouldn't recommend this being the first place you go to, but def has a large enough variety to give you an idea of what you may like. Once I knew what I liked I went to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa (that location was more in my budget) but Im sure the Carle Place location has a lot too. I also went to the Wedding Plaza in Floral Park, they had a decent selection and I went there on a Sunday and the woman was super sweet and so helpful.

If you dont mind traveling to NYC you should go to RK Bridal in Manhattan. I LOVE that store! They have a huge selection of wedding dresses and in all different styles. Thats where I found my dress. Only thing is they tend to be very busy on the weekends so you have to get there before they open otherwise you might be waiting for like 2hrs to try on dresses.
