On weekends in Sept - May, we very often go to our house in East Hampton. (we rent it in the Summer)
Out of the things you all have seen and/or used, what is a good option for the baby to sleep in out there? Should we get a crib for out there? Is there any other option?

Re: where will she sleep on weekends?
I think a pack n play might be your best bet, but instead of folding it up 2x each week, can you just invest in another one for the rental house?

Re: where will she sleep on weekends?
This is the pack&play that I registered for. It has a changing table and bassinet included (it also matches my high-chair). I figured it would work well when we go to MA to visit the in-laws.
There are tons of them. You can look on BRU's site. They cost around $100 or so. And they also have sheets that fit that bottom. They have different patterns and features. Basically they fold up into a little sleeve like thing and you can throw it in the car easily.

I agree - go with a pack & play. When we were in the process of moving Luke slept in his for a few weeks. I put a blanket under the fitted sheet to make it extra comfy (he sleeps on the bottom now). He slept in it at my Moms alot when he was smaller in the hanging bassinet.
My pack & play advice is - get one with wheels. Alot of the less expensive ones dont have wheels but they are a 'must' IMO.

Re: where will she sleep on weekends?
I got a packnplay for grandmas house for $59 (graco). Its adorable! We dont use the top part, he was already to heavy for that part when we bought it That's for the first 2-3months. After 3months or so, you will rarely continue to use the changing tables and bassinet parts that most of them come with. (so they can double the price ) At a certain age, they start to squirm (and gain weight) and its hard to change them on something so small. (in my opinion)

Re: where will she sleep on weekends?
hm...great info!!
ok so how long can baby sleep in pack n play? I mean...ultimately I'll need a crib out there won't I? Or can this be used until she can sleep in a bed?
And do you guys use this as a playpen? Is that the idea? Sorry for the dummy mommy questions....

Re: where will she sleep on weekends?
you can absolutely use it as a crib/sleeping for the first year and maybe even a few months more. (there's a weight limit on them) and you'll be able to sense when they need more room to stretch, but id say at least a year. and yes as a playpen too. But you'll see the baby doesnt like to be 'closed in' for long to play, so I just use it as a playpen when I need to jump in the shower or get something done so he cant hurt himself walking around the house.
you really dont need an additional crib also. its really up to you.

Re: where will she sleep on weekends?
My nephew slept in his (not the bassinet part, just the regular part) even at 2 years old at my house. He was fine and there were no problems.
