Are u girls going to a travel agent or booking everything online? I'm asking because yesterday just for fun I went to Travelocity.com and started to plan our Aruba honeymoon and after I picked the hotel, room type, flight etc. I came up with a price. The I went to a reputable travel agent's website and the quote I got for the same EXACT trip was $1500 more! I've always heard people say that it's better to book with a travel agent but if this is any indication of how much $$$ I'm gonna spend then I think booking online is definitely the better choice. Have any of you had any experience with this already?

Re: Where will u book your honeymoon?
I always book travel online and have had no problems with it. If you are booking a straight forward trip that just involves one flight and a hotel, I'd say booking online is the way to go. However, if your trip is a little more complicated with various connections, different hotels, etc., I'd stick with a travel agent. This way, if there are problems, all you have to do is call the agent to fix it.

Re: Where will u book your honeymoon?
I always booked online, but Im thinking for the HM (if I go to Hawaii) its a little more complicated, and I will go with an agent.
But - that doesnt mean that you shouldnt do your research!! If you go to an agent, and you found it cheaper online, you can tell them - and they will either match it or give it to you for a little less (i think liberty travel) does that - and if the agent doesnt wanna budge on the price - then go to an agent that will!! Once they see that you did your research - they will want you to book with them - not the internet - so they should accomodate you!

Re: Where will u book your honeymoon?
I usually do extensive research online reading reviews comparing prices and then I call my travel agent and she has actually saved us money from the online dealers. I am going to do the same for the HM

Re: Where will u book your honeymoon?
I love planning trips so I don't think I want to go through a travel agent. My dad is always traveling and knows all about booking flights and hotels. He planned our entire Hawaii trip with all the transfers and different hotels so I know if I need help, I can just ask him. We are thinking about Australia/New Zealand so it may be a bit complicated, but if I start early enough and do my research, I think I can do it!!

Re: Where will u book your honeymoon?
Let me tell you- for my previous vacations Ive always done my research on the internt and then gave that price to my travel agent to see if he can match it ir make it lower (which they 'found' lower prices) if they cant then I book through the computer
hopefully for our honeymoon FH's cousin will book it for us but if i find the same thing for less on the internet then guess what i am going with
