Where's a good rock to crawl under when you need one?
I just need to vent about last week, so I can get it off my chest and move on....
MONDAY - Boss calls me in to tell me my vacation a week off in March has been denied. Unfortunately, I only see FH 4 weeks out of the entire year, and that's one of the weeks. Not to mention his birthday that I will be stuck at work for. It's our last time together before our wedding.
TUESDAY: Boss tells me my raise i requested a week and a half ago has been denied because of the economy. Nevermind that I saw 3 $12,000 raises come across my desk the week before (I work in Human Resources).
FH decides to tell me he racked up tons of money on his credit card, and he's been too embarrassed to tell me.
WEDNESDAY: Macy's calls to tell me they never got my credit card payment (darn post office, y can't they mail a simple check?!?)
Get home from work to find out my tags on my car ($300) are due in April when i know I'll be moving to NY the 1st week of June.
Find out that night that my FH's BAH (Basic Housing Allowance for the military) isn't enough to cover rent for the base he's being stationed at when we get married.
THURSDAY: Macy's keeps calling to tell me I need to pay my bill which I paid online on Wednesday since the post office is retarded.
Find out my aunt (which I never met) died and my Dad will be flying out for her funeral which is on his birthday.
FRIDAY: I race to pack my clothes and head out of town to my second job. I get to the hotel and CANNOT sleep because the drunk happy ppl keep slaming doors.
SATURDAY: I get ready at the crack of dawn and head out to the military base to go to work. I am asked for my license, registration, and proof of insurance... no biggy right? Well, I printed out my new proof of insurance and threw away the WRONG ONE! So, they tell me they have to call a unit! I patiently wait for the Military Police, but they don't show up. Apparently, this is the only base where civilian police have jurisdication. Long story short, they give me a warning for the proof of insurance BUT ticket me for having a NY license, saying i'm an unlicensed driver! WHAT?!?! I have a license ... just because it isn't a CA license.. I try to tell him i'm a student and under CA law I don't have to change my license. He tells me because I work in CA I have to change it. (I looked it up, he's wrong!) But it doesn't matter because he gave me a ticket for a MISDEMEANOR, and now I have to take off work for 2 days (one to enter a not guilty plea, and one to get a judgement) and drive 2 hours to go to court. Taking off work costs $$$$. So, I've decided if it's thrown out i'm taking the egomanic officer to small claims. As far as I'm concerned, you better know the law before you even dare write a ticket. In fact, 3 LAPD officers tried to get him to cancel the ticket because they said it wasn't right... and they didn't even know me!
That was my week... I stayed in bed all sunday because, well, I was to afraid to venture out.
