Re: Where's that recipe for 'Dirt'........

I tried to do a search but it only goes back to August....so I'm posting my recipe!

Dirt

1 large package of Single Stuff Oreos (Double Stuff Doesn't turn out as well)

1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened

3 Tbs. Butter or margarine, softened

2 (3½ oz.) boxes instant French-Vanilla pudding

3 cups milk (whole works better than 2%)

1 (16 oz.) carton whipped topping (I use Cool Whip)

In food processor, process cookies until they resemble dirt. (I have tried two methods that are easier to clean up than this. 1.) Use a rolling pin to crush the actual package itself of cookies. 2.) Move the cookies to a plastic ziplock back and use a mallet, your hands, or a rolling pin to crush. Set aside.

Combine cream cheese and margarine. Set aside. Beat pudding mix and milk - mix well. Combine pudding and cream cheese mixtures. Fold in whipped topping. NOTE: I usually mix all of this in the same bowl (much cleaner that way) and it turns out fine. An electric mixer is a must though! NOTE: It seems VERY water when you're done making it...but it fluffs up in the fridge while you're chilling it.

Serving Suggestion:
In an 8-inch plastic flower pot alternate pudding and dirt (crumbs) mixture, ending with dirt on top. Chill. Place an artificial flower in the center of the pot and serve with a trowel. <---I usually serve it in a metal bowl (skipping the trowel and flower), because the metal bowl helps with the chilling and keeping it chilled while you serve it.

I do have a thought on the Dirt recipe .. why use Vanilla Pudding when dirt is brown?? Wouldn't Chocolate Pudding be a good idea???
