Which bridesmaid dress?

Well after going to 6 different stores MULTIPLE times, I have FINALLY picked a bridesmaid's dress.... sort of.

See, it's the same dress- but it comes in 2 different materials, taffeta and satin.

My dress is taffeta, and I think the material will look really nice next to mine. But the color it comes in (indigo) is darker than I wanted. The satin comes in royal blue, which is the color I wanted.

Which one do you like more?

go for #2. I think the taffeta is going to come out rather dark...the satin is going to POP and the color is going to be beautiful

Have you seen the colors in person? A lot of times the computer pictures are really inaccurate.

I'm torn but voted for #2. I like the fabric of #1 better but the color of #2 better. I think it's more important to have the color you want because it will be more visible.

I was in a similar boat -- my dress is raw silk which is similar in appearance to taffeta and I thought that taffeta BM dresses would look better with my dress. I also wanted to go with taffeta over satin because it's a lightweight fabric and satin to me seemed more wintery (I ruled it out for my own dress after trying on many satin dresses)

However, you get a LOT more choice in color with satin, and I know color is really impt to you. That second dress seems to be exactly what you were looking for!

Check on the true color of the taffeta though -- I attached a stock photo of BL indigo and a photo of a BL indigo dress, and the stock photo seems darker and duller (taffeta picks up the light and usually looks brighter in real life, especially when there is ruching like your dress and mine)

Yes I did see the dress in person (i tried on the taffeta one- they didn't have the satin one.) And I saw the colors in person- I actually tried on the blue taffeta dress that's shown above also. It's like 2 shades lighter than navy. I definitely like the royal color better, but this is also a really pretty color.

I originally picked a Bill Levkoff dress in indigo, but I changed my mind b/c of another photo I saw where the dress had an iridescent lavender tint when the light hit- its very pretty, but it just wouldnt really go w/ my color scheme (yellow and blue)

In my opinion, color >>> fabric. You know yourself best, but I think you'll be happier with the satin dress. BL indigo definitely has a lavendar cast in some lighting - I ordered a yard and took it around with me in all different lighting to get a good idea of color.
