Which Bridesmaids dress?

Original post by Betty

I think we have narowed it down to these two. The girls will be carrying lilac and yellow roses.

The first one is more flowing and not as form fitting.
The second one is a bit straighter (its a little hard to see b/c she is sitting)

Thanks

Betty, are you settled on these two styles? This is my BM dress, and I'm getting it in a color very similar to yours..cornflower. The reason I ask is that this is a halter, and it has slight embellishments like yours, but the waist line is more flattering because it's not high waisted like the one you posted. Just an option if you really like halter! The v-neck is NOT as deep as it is on this model by the way, and the back is actually higher. I think they just like to make the models look ho-ish.

OOOO, that is very pretty. Where did you get it (and how much)? It was so hard to get everyone together and they all tried both on so its just easier. I also don't want them to spend a lot and these are both pretty inexpensive (especially the first one). I'm afraid your also might be a little too form fitting. A few of this would like that but there are a couple that wouldn't.
It's so hard to make everyone happy (althought they tell me whatever I want is fin..they don't really complain but I want them to feel comfortable all day)

We got them at Valentina Bridal in Brooklyn. They were about 200 each. I think Netbride has them much cheaper though. It's Jim Hjelm.

I was afraid of the form fitting thing too, and the dress is really so much more modest then it appears. This picture is really deceiving. It gives a defined waist line because of the beading around the waist, and the skirt is a-line from there down. The top and back like I said are higher, and a seamstress can really make it even higher if they are modest. I have 5 different body types and they all look great in this dress.

I like #2 better also....I like the top to it.
I think #1 makes the girl in the pic look pregnant.

They are both nice. Why don't you let your girls vote.

They are both nice. But I think it may also depend on the bust size and overall body shape of your BM's. #1 is better for ladies with wider bottoms, #2 is flattering for flat tummies..

I like them both. I think #2 is more elegant and I probably would choose that one. But, #1 compliments your dress beautifully! You really can't go wrong - just take a poll of your girls and pick the one they like the best!

Thank you all so much for your opinions.

I asked my girls to vote. They all like both. 2 like the first better (they think it better compliments everyone) and 2 like the #2. I haven't heard form the others yet.

I agree with everyone and think #1 compliments my dress and #2 is dressier.

I love having your opinions though (and it seems like everyone is split down the middle )

You can't go wrong with either one. They are both really nice. Personally, I prefer #2. Have any of your BMs tried on a sample? Maybe that will help them decide.
