Which color rug should I choose for my baby's room?

Good morning all! I'm trying to decide on the color of an area rug for my nursery. The room is about 10' 6'x10' 6', and the walls are painted 'Garrison Red'

(it looks burgandy, almost a barn color) with white doors, window frame, ceilings. I'm thinking about a 7' 7' x 7' 7' square rug -- let me know if you think that is a mistake for any reason. Our condo was built in 1916, and our style is traditional/country. We like everything to look comfy cozy, and tend to use dark colors. Our dining room next to the nursery has a navy oriental rug, our couches in the living room are navy/dark green/burgandy plaid.

We still aren't 100% sure on the gender, the baby was a bit shy during the ultrasound. It is more likely a girl. However, I'd like to reuse this rug for my second child in a few years, and in the end I don't really care about making the room gendered. I just want it to be pretty and tasteful!

So, here are the options:

#4 I think that all of the above choice would look bad, try for something else!

I like the cream, but I'd be worried about stains and such....

I like the blue best!!! I LOVE that rug....I love all the toys and shapes to look at!!!

That rug is sooo cute. I like the cream also, but would be worried of it getting dirty...The next choice, I would pick, is the green.

i voted cream as well. will look great w/ the paint color and also gender neutral.

BTW - what brand of paint is 'garrison red'. i am looking for a warm (not to bright) red/burgandy color for the dining room.

'Garrison Red' is from Benjamin Moore. It is definitely not bright, but I'd call it more of a deep red than a warm one.

'Raisin Torte' also by Benjamin Moore may be warmer, but its a bit more pink, which I didn't want in case I had a boy, but may be good for dining room.

Thanks to all of you who have already voted, I'm having such a hard time deciding, and I'm guessing based on the varied opinions that I probably can't go wrong either way. I'll give it a few more hours to see if there is any more agreement on a particular choice.

Cream does seem safest without being able to see the rugs in person, but I am a bit worried about the possible mess. In the end, I guess any of these colors would stain though since they are all light. Hmmmmm.....

i love them all.. but i think the cream is nice but will stain wayy too much..since ur not sure what ur having id stay away from blue.. i would do the green i think it looks awesome with the reddish wall color and can b good for aboy or girl...awesome print btw:)

thanks! you CANNOT go wrong w/ the cream. i would avoid the blue in case it is a girl. green would also look nice, but i prefer the cream.

ETA: what color is the furniture. if it is light wood or white/ivory, green might be the best contrast. if dark wood, then either the green or cream would coordinate well.

Ooooh good question on the furniture color, I knew I had forgotten something! The furniture is 'Candlelight' a light wood:

Thanks for checking in skew. I decided to go with the majority opinion of my brilliant friends on LIW. So, cream it is. It got more votes than the blue and green combined. Without having been able to see any of these in person, I was also a bit worried about what the exact shade of blue or green would be. So, while the white will show a bit more dirt, I decided it was the safest choice. We have a similarly light rug in our living room and it still looks good, so hopefully we'll have the same luck with this one.
