I've already gotten my dress, and I know I am NOT buying my veil at David's Bridal b/c they are obcenely expensive! I have heard that Tri-County Flea Market has some gorgeous ones that are much more reasonably priced. But, which do I do first - buy the veil I like and then have a hairdo that will work with it, or go for the hair trial first and then buy the veil? I already know I want my hair down (or mostly down).

Re: Which comes first, the veil or the hair trial?
you can still go for a hair trial without your veil if you're looking for someone to book, or just trying someone out. but if you've already booked someone and want to finalize your look, then i would wait for your veil, that way you won't have to keep booking more trials with the same person. does that make sense?

veil -- it's up to the hair stylist to figure out a way to make it look good

It's not so much the veil as it is the headpiece, unless you are referring to the veil as the whole thing.
Tiara, headband, comb, hair sticks. You have to decide what type of headpiece you want and then the stylist can come up with something that would look good with the headpiece.

i picked which hairstyle i liked and then chose a veil and headpiece that worked. so for me it was trial first. i didnt order my veil/headpiece until about 6 weeks before the wedding.

I'm doing the same. To me, the hairstyle is more important and I will chose a veil I like that compliments the hair. However, if your veil or tiara is more important than maybe you should pick those items first, then figure out a hairstyle that goes. It really depends on which is more important to you. Good luck!

Most hair vendors have veils and tiaras so you can get a feel of how they look with your 'do. I'd at least have an idea of the type of tiara and veil you will choose...so that they can make good suggestions to you. Hope that helps.

ditto. I think I know in a general sense what I want for my veil, but as for hairstyles I'm just thinking 'not all up'

I had my hair trial without my veil, not a big deal bec they had a sample veil for me to put on to see what it looks like. YOu can def do your trial without a veil
