Re: which dance goes first?
Does the father/daughter and mother/son dance immediately follow? When the introductions of the bridal party are made, is anyone having their bridesmaids dance with the groomsmen? I don't know if I want to do that b/c some may feel awkward.

Re: which dance goes first?
The way I have always seen it done is first is the husband/wife dance and then the band/dj invites the bridal party and/or guest to join in.... then later in the reception, it's the Father/Daughter and then Mother/Son.

There is no right/wrong for these traditions, but as a guest I would find it a bit odd. The wedding is about the joining of you and your husband, and dancing with your father first to me would seem as though that relationship takes priority.

I think you should dance first w/your husband. The day is about your relationship with him.

I would not dance with your father first, no matter how close you are. I agree that it would be making that relationship a priority, and wouldn't be right. What if your husband said he wanted to dance with his mother before dancing with you? I think this would not sit well. I would definitely dance with your husband first - that's why they call it the 'First Dance' - it's supposed to be the first dance on the dance floor, before which no one else dances. You and your new husband 'open' the dance floor by dancing together!

Re: which dance goes first?
that makes perfect sense..
i guess for some reason i was thinking about it as a transition. like going from daddy's little girl to being a wife .. so i thought it would go in that order.
but ok i shall change things up.. thanks!

Re: which dance goes first?
Is anyone dancing the entire first dance with no one on the floor besides you and your new hubbie? Or are you going to open up the dance floor to others half way through? Also, what is a more exciting way to introduce the bridal party? What is normally done- just an introduction?
