Which DJ add on would you choose??

Which DJ add on would you choose??

I have never really seen a DJ with any of the extras? Most of my friends had bands or just the basic DJ. I want to add a little something but I am not sure which I should choose
Which do you prefer when you are at weddings? and Why?
What is the percussionist like?
Do you enjoy the singer during dinner or is the Sinatra being played by the DJ just as good. What do you think would be the biggest hit???

i am a fan of the percussionist and the plasmas. i think the percussionist really adds a nice touch to the music. the only thing i dont like is if they come out to the floor and let everyone touch the drums, that happened at my friends wedding..i prefer him to stay behind teh scenes.

the plasmas i like alot too but thats only because FH and i are big picture people and they usually give you a cd with all the pics they took so its bonus pictures. plus anyone who cant make it to your ceremony gets to see pics from it on the screen.

I like the singer the most I think. It gives people a chance to enjoy their dinner (or one course of it) without feeling like they need to get out on the dance floor and dance.
We're having a violinist perform during the main course so people can unwind a little and enjoy a performance.
As for the lights, several music people advised us against the club lights because they were worried it would stress old people. We're big clubheads, so it was something we really wanted... but in the end decided against. So we'll be having some lights, but nothing insane.

percussionist.

to me i'm not big on plasmas and stuff---i didn't want our guests looking up at screens all nite. we had a percussionist and everyone thought it was amazing. we also had mostly hispanic music playing all nite--and the percussionist does go GREAT with that style of music.

I went to a wedding where they had a percussionist - at one point a couple of the groomsmen got on them - it was hysterical Definitely was a good add on!

i got a percussionist.

the plasmas/lights made it seem too clubbish/sweet 16 and I thought everyone would be watching the screens too much anyway.

the dinner singer is cool, but I love live music but there are restrictions with bands (songs, breaks, etc.) so I thought the percussionist would be a great add on!!

i loved the percussionist, it adds a little something. I wanted to play on them too but i forgot day of lol

i loved the plasmas, but i loved it bc some of my favorite moments were when they played our same day wedding movie trailer and our photo montage. When i see ppl now who attended our wedding, all of them tell me how much they loved the movie trailer. Plus i got alot of great pics from our dj so that was another plus.

The live singer, hmmm not sure about. It depends if its something you think you would really like. Whenever im at a wedding i dont even really pay attention to what is being played while im eating. Most people are talking to eachother at that time. So its not something that people will miss if you dont have it.

Lights, i LOVED IT...but i didnt do flashing strobe lights like in a club and when a dj offers lights its not necessarily for that. I had a couple of beams set up throughout the room so it gave a different effect. Its used to do an overall color of the whole room not really club lights. So talk to your dj about what they mean. I had lights but it wasnt anything like a club. Also depends alot on how youre room is being set up.

This is what i mean that with lights it just gives the room a different color, not that its a strobe light or anything. The color stayed like this throughout, these are pics from my wedding with the dj lighting

I got the dinner singer. i think it will add at nice relaxing touch to the reception.

I would go for the lighting or percussionist. If it is perimeter lighting or sometimes its called uplighting, i would go for that. It will totally transform the look of your room, and add a really cool feel. If its strobes and club lights, I would stay away from that.

id say the dinner singer or lights! i went to a wedding with teh percussionist and at times, it seemed annoying and at other times i couldnt even hear it

We got the plasmas and the pics because I remember loving them from my cousins wedding- especially if you are up and dancing alot (you'll be in tons of the pics) and if you are not dancing at all (elderly)
Plus you get an extra photographer at the reception!

The mood lights are nice too.. I may ask about a gobo for my dance floor

i added on simple lighting, nothing crazy, percussionist and plasmas/zap photos. i've seen them at other weddings and had to have them at mine!

Our DJ explained the 'intelligent lighting' in a very honest way, and I am thankful for it. He said it will literally be like we're in a club, and that it often bothers the older guests, and can be very distracting, overwhelming after a while. I was going to do it, but was really grateful he was so forthright about what it would be like, and that my money may better be spent on something else. We'll still have lighting, but not the crazy club stuff that frankly, might even annoy me after a while!
