Which dress would you pick and why

Original post by BriBri529

My Bridesmaid dresses will be champagne. I went with two of my BMs yesterday and they loved this dress:

I love this dress along with the majority of my BMs. (although not all have tried it on)

The two Bms that love the first dress think the sleeves of the second one might be annoying, because they will keep falling down, and that it might not be flattering to the arms of those with bigger arms.

I say there are ways around the sleeves being annoying (for example stick on velcro or double stick tape for the inside of the sleeves).

My BMs are a true variety of sizes and shape (short, tall, voluptuous, not voluptuous, heavier, skinnier etc . . .)

Can you please tell vote for 1, 2, or neither and explain why you voted as you did? Thanks Girls!!!!!

I personally really like #1, but I'm pretty sure it won't look well on your different body types because the skirt is cut slim and staright. Your heavier girls are going to look like they were poured in and they may not walk very confortably. I think #2 is beautiful and givine the A-line cut, will probably work better with your range of bodies. Have everyone try both on, and then make a decision. Don't forget that you get the final call.

i like 2 also. and, with #1, they may feel 'choked' - especially in july!

good luck!

I like #2, and of the two dresses this one is probably the most flattering on various body types.

#2...Do you have any pics of the front of the dress?

I like #2 better but.. be careful with that material for the shorter girls- they might get lost in it. Also for the heavier girls a fitted waist might not be a good idea.
I went with an A-Line kinda flowy material without a fitted waist yet fitted bust because it will flatter all of the girls and no one will be self conscious (I HOPE!)

I like the second dress, mostly b/ c I'm not crazy about the neckline of the first.

definitely #2. It looks fabulous. I am not crazy about the neckline on the first one.

I like # 2.

If the dress is fitted and altered properly the sleeves shouldn't be uncomfortable or annoying at all.

#2, I dont like the high neck in the first one.
the second is very pretty, love the tie up back!

I like number 2. I don't think the neckline on #1 will lay right or be comfrotable on the girls. I know I would fidget with that all night. I also love the back of #2

1 - I don't like the look of corseted backs and I think the sleeves on #2 don't look right...if they look bad on the model I can't imagine it in person.

#2....I find the neckline on #1 distracting IMO

I vote #2 !!

Speaking from experience - my daughter wore dress #1 as a jr. BM at her father's 2nd wedding - and the neckline made her look like Darth Vader. Basically - her neck vanished because of the high collar. It could be that was because of her age at the time (9) or the way the dress was made ... but i would be wary of this style.
