I've never been there, but the Carlyle seems gorgeous on the inside, from the pics on their website.

Re: which hall has the..
to be honest we didn't really like any of them. some we saw had separate rooms for ceremony (ie: thatched cottage, east wind inn) and others are in the ceremony or cocktail our room (ie: pjcc, john anthonys). but it's a chance we are taking. so one of the key factors in deciding our hall was if we had to have the ceremony inside did we like it. no offense to the east wind inn brides but that was one of the key issues on us choosing pjcc. we really didn't care for the ceremony room in the basement of east wind. i mean they were doing everything they could to make it look really nice, we just didn't like the basement/no windows feel. we would rather have it in the reception room. sorry no pics.

I have to agree--I almost booked Carlyle on the spot based on the ceremony room. I ended up going with Glen Island, whose ceremony room is different, less mansion-y (yeah, I make up words in my free time). It's a huge round room, right on the water and there are glass windows all around, so you've got that outdoor feeling but with the benefit of air conditioning.
Okay, I keep trying to load the picture but it exceeds the allowable size. You can see the ceremony room at www.gi-hc.com.

I didn't choose tha hall, but the nicest indoor ceremony site I saw was at the Swan Club. It's a separate private chapel and I thought it was beautiful. When you see it, you can just imagine it all with flowers, candles, etc...

I have to agree with 'nferrandi' about the Pavillion at the Swan Club - that's where we're having our ceremony.
It's been described as a 'carriage house' located in the gardens at the Swan Club.
Lots of windows with an open, airy feeling (although it's enclosed).
It's just beautiful when decorated with flowers and the while tulle which is draped across the ceiling.

I love Carlyle's ceremony room...gorgeous. The others are just as beautiful. Even though we ended up booking Thatched Cottage...I agree their ceremony room is very small and not really that pretty. Since we are having a small-ish wedding (less than 100 people), the hall itself seemed to be the best fit for us.

Chateau La Mer is building a brand new chapel at their reception hall. It's not done yet so I don't know what it looks like but the rest of the place is gorgeous :)

Vanderbilt Mansion from a different angle... Lovely inside, esp. at night with the rain falling :)
