FMIL gave us our wedding rings and I know I wear mine on my left hand because its the hand I don't write with and I am right handed. FH however, is left handed does he where it on his left hand or his right? I can't find anything that says one way or the other. I was thinking the right because he does not write with his right hand? help

I'm a lefty and wear it on my left. I never heard of it being connected to your dominate hand, it doesn't bother me when I write.

I thought you were always supposed to both wear the rings on your left hand..i have heard that a widow wears their wedding rings on the right hand

I've heard of brides wearing their engagement ring on their right, but as far as I know the band always goes on the left. This is due to an old folklore that says that the vein that runs to your left finger is connected directly to your heart. On a slightly different note, this post reminded me of a really cool video I saw on youtube on why wedding rings are worn on the ring finger in general. The robotic voice is creepy, but the message is sweet! Enjoy!!

I've only heard of it being worn on your left ring finger b/c that finger has a vein that runs right to the heart. I know Greek people sometimes wear their rings on their right hand (I have a few friends who do this instead).

Eastern European countries and Spain tend to also wear their bands on their right hand

This! Its the hand closest to your heart, which is why traditionally your wedding ring goes first on your finger followed by your engagement ring, so this way the wedding band is also closest to your heart.

oh okay thanks girls FH has decided to wear his right hand because he is norwegian and that is what they do and he thinks its practial to wear it on his right hand.
