my gyno is with NY Methodist Hospital in Park Slope, Brooklyn. my hub and i went in for a tour and instantly unimpressed. we were bummed because we really do like the area and it's right next to barnes & noble. i mean how great is that?? but ugh! that hospital was just so ghetto. i've only seen my gyno once so far so it's not a big deal that i change doctors. i'm looking into Lenox Hill. Has anyone ever given birth there or know of its reputation and etx? Is there a hospital you could recommend? that would be so great! thank you!

I was born in Methodist back in the day. Don't know too much about it now. My friend worked there in the delivery/maternity dept and didn't care for it. She now works in that same area in Lutheran Hospital in Sunset Park. They have a great reputation (so I've heard from women who have given birth there) my friend had nothing negative to day about her experiences working there. My doctor delivers in both Methodist, Lutheran as well as Victory in Bay Ridge. (I have never heard anything positive about giving birth at Victory), I chose Lutheran. From everything I have heard I feel confident about my decision.

I was born in Methodist too but live in Long Island now. I delivered at Winthrop. They have a great NICU.

I HAD MY SON A T LONG ISLAND JEWISH. SCHNEIDERS CHILDRENS HOSPITAL IS PART OF THEM. THEY HAVE THE TOP RATED NEONATAL UNIT IN NEW YORK,.

LIJ is the hospital I would like to deliver in but do not know any ob/gyn who delicer there (the drs I know deliver at winthrop. Who is your dr and do u recommend him/her? Thanks for the advice

Im delivering out east at a great hospital. As a matter of fact I switched OBGYNs because my old one would have me deliver at a hospital not as good. It was an easy switch for me because I didnt like my first doctor.
If youre not too far along Id pick a hospital and find out which OBGYN delivers there and go with them. Good Luck.

Thanks for your respomse. i am not pregnant yet, but planning on it and want to make sure i have mr drs and hospital all set up. I honestly am having a hard time finding a dr/ hospital I like. Is it possible for you to give me the name of your dr? (if its not too personal) Also, congratulations on your pregnancy! when are u due? U must be so excited!! Thanks for your response in advance!!

Im due in July and I use Suffolk OBGYN - they have MANY offices. Ill be going to St Charles in Port Jeff which might be too far for you.

DR. RICHARD TAUBMAN. HE'S LOCATED AT 900 NORTHERN BLVD. GREAT NECK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. THERE ARE ALSO 2 OTHER OB/GYN'S IN HIS GROUP. I HAD A HIGH RISK PREGNANCY AND THEY WERE GREAT.

Although Methodist is close to us, we're choosing to give birth at Roosevelt on 58th and 10th in the city. It has a beautiful birthing center and great midwives, and if that's not for you it's labor and delivery floor is really nice too. We were thoroughly impressed.

Unfortunately I am way out east.... My first son was born at Stonybrook, second was in Southampton and third was at Central Suffolk which is now Peconic Bay Medical Center.
