I've only been to the Wyndham and Marriott. Is the Sheraton you mention the one in Smithtown?
IMO, the Wyndham...it's more 'spa-like' than hotel-like.

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
I called the Wyndham & the Marriott Islandia. The only thing I didn't like about the Wyndham is that whatever rooms aren't used from your block...you have to pay for. The Marriott Islandia just drops the rooms.

Wyndham is that whatever rooms aren't used from your block...you have to pay for.
I called the Wyndham as well since I'm getting married at the Hamlet...this was never mentioned to me.

Spa-like = good...to me. It's on the Hamlet's golf course - so the views are really pretty. They have a pool, gym, saunas...restaurant, bar.
As far as I know, the pricing is the same between the Wyndham & Mariott.

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
Go w/the Wyndham!! (OK, I'm partial since my wedding will be held their )
cp0329--check the contract you signed when you blocked the rooms. It will specify whether or not you have to pay for any rooms in your block that are not booked.

What about the Jr Suite at the Wyndham?? We will be there for about 9 hours, is it worth it?

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
Jennyhet - thanks for the tip. We haven't blocked anything yet - I think I have some time (wedding date: 9/3/04)...but it's Labor Day weekend so I should just probably do it.

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
What's the price difference between the regular and the jr suite. If it's not too much I would go for it. It's your wedding night

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
The price difference is 119 to 350.
I called and they don't have any suites available for my wedding day.

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
I like the Wyndham better but then again I also blocked my rooms there for my OOT guests.
For all the girls thinking about blocking rooms at the Wyndham you don't necessarily have to pay for the blocked rooms not used. What you have to do is make sure that 1 night you have at least 10 rooms. If you block off rooms for 3 nights one of those nights has to include 10 rooms. If that doesn't happen then you have to pay for the rooms.

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
First of all I should say that my Aunt is the person who delivers the USA Today to all the rooms at the Sheraton & the Marriott, among other hotels(my mom deliviers to the Meliville Marriott & the Huntington Hilton, I deliever to St. Josephs, it sounds crazy but USA today pays good money!). Anyway, I was planning on booking my rooms at the Sheraton till my Aunt told me about some unwanted 'guests' she saw there(on more than one occasion) & worse when she made them aware of the situation, they had a who cares attitude. So, I booked with the Marriott in Islandia instead. I don't know much about the Wyndam, except that they don't have door to door USA delivery service(LOL, unless they do it themselves) & that my rate for rooms at the Marriott this weekend(from Wednesday night to saturday night) is $109!

Re: Which hotel is nicer??
In general, I always find a Sheraton to be a nicer hotel than a Marriott. JMO
