The spa at Elizabeth Arden is supposed to be fantastic...and they're actually very reasonable. Day of Beauty was about $300.

Maybe try SoHo Sanctuary-all women- from what I hear very 'ZEN'.
Also very good- the spa inside the Peninsula Hotel (think it's on 55th & 5th)- top notch!
Bliss- SoHo- truly unimpressed

Yes I also heard good things about Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon.
