Ok, we have not booked the hall (that's an on going $$$ issue). I want July (2006), FH does not care. Some people suggest February (2006). My BIGGEST concern is family members very close to me are out of state and I am a afraid of a blizzard or something that they won't be here. The family is my dad and step mom (South Carolina), mom and step dad (Illinois), aunt (Iowa) and uncle and aunt (Arizona). FH and I are paying for 90% of this wedding, so cost is a big issue. If I HAVE to go with February b/c of money, I will, but I REALLY want July. I know I have made what seems to be a thousand and one posts about this general topic, but my FH and I work opposite shifts, we don't live together, we're lucky if we talk 10 min a day, and we only get 1 whole day together per week. I usually don't mind, but I don't have him to talk to about this stuff...that's why I love talking with you guys. Thank you all for being here...and for the future! Thanks!!!!!!

Re: Which month to wed??
I voted for February because thats when I got married!! It was actually very nice on my wedding day. It was about 50 degrees. February is really a tricky month. I have two cousins that got married in February and had 70 degree weather and my stepbrother had 65. Just like worrying about a snowstorm in February, there are also bad storms and blackouts and heatwaves in July. You just have to pray for the best and thankjfully I got a great day in February, plus things were a lot cheaper!! Good Luck with whatever you decide!!!

Re: Which month to wed??
My family begged me not to have a summer wedding. It can be so hot and humid. The only problem with February is that it is not necessarily snowy...it could be more yucky nondescript weather.

Re: Which month to wed??
If you are trying to keep costs down but are afraid of a storm, why not do April or late March? I believe that the prices escalate more in June or May. It may not be as inexpensive as February but it would cheaper than July.

Re: Which month to wed??
Why such extremes?? I mean the weather difference between Feb & July is so great. Why only these two months? If you open up a little more (if your schedule permits) you can look into March, April, or perhaps even November. I'm not sure what the price difference is between July and say, June or May but if it is just as expensive, I would go for the cooler month.
ETA: Another thing to consider is amount of Daylight for pictures

Re: Which month to wed??
Well I am getting married in February so obviously you know what I voted for Honestly if money was no object I would have probably picked a different month ( although we met feb, and got engaged feb so I liked that idea) but honestly I think it has been the best decision I made so far. It saved us SO MUCH MONEY not just with the hall, but with almost every single vendor we are using. we were able to add and have so many things that we could have never even thought about if we werent getting married 'off season' also its slower season so you have a better chance of having pretty much your first choice with every vendor. Hey you never know about the weather.. I mean this year it rained almost every single weekend in july and was SO HUMID! I would flip out if I spent all this extra money and got such crappy weather anyway. And 3 years ago when I met my FH in early february it was SO gorgeous out!! like 70 degrees. so you really never know.

Re: Which month to wed??
I would definately say neither. You should go for a more mild climate like April or May. Weather in months like February and July are so unpredictable! You could have a blizzard or a heat wave and that would kind of stink.

May is a beautiful month. April showers bring May flowers. If I could, I would get married in May

Re: Which month to wed??
My choice is February because I hate the the heat!!! What about the Fall? Some halls are cheaper in the Fall and it is very pretty and not as cold as February?

I am more of a summer person. I wouldn't like the winter weather for my wedding, although I have been to a few weddings in winter, and they have bben beautiful!

Why not late March? Or, early November?

Re: Which month to wed??
i chose other, because i hate the heat and i would not want to wear a heavy wedding dress in july. february you could possibly have to deal with a blizzard.
why not go with late march, april or nov. you will still get good prices.

Re: Which month to wed??
If you have a lot of OOT guests, I would vote for July. My former professor lives in Colorado but got married in Florida in March. She and DH were lucky to get out of CO when they did because the next day, all the airports were shut down due to a storm. They expected 50 people from CO and only 2 (who came on the same flight) made it. So, her DH's grown children, their parents, etc were not able to attend.
