FH & I are trying to throw a cost friendly EParty, one of FHs friends owns a very nice italian restaurant and offered to help us out with a good price.
FH & I want to have dinner, drinks & dancing.
Im worried that a daytime party might be awkward for ppl
but I also dont want to inconvenience ppl with a thursday night?
it's going to be small, 50 people- mostly young people.

To be honest, I'd prefer a Saturday party. This way, I wouldn't have to worry about getting out of work early and getting to the party on time.
How close are your guests to the party? And does everyone work where they may have to rearrange their work schedule? You didn't indicate what time for dinner on Thursday. Plus a lot of people have to work Friday as well.
At least with a Saturday party, even if it's 1-5, you can all make plans to continue partying into the evening at a bar or someone's house, if you felt like it.
That's just my honest opinion.

I say Saturday day..even though youre guests may be young, work is usually always an issue

ITA We are doing a Saturday Day Wedding. Thursday night you risk everyone leaving after dinner because they have to work Friday. A Saturday Day Party, could spill over into A Saturday Night after party for those die hard party people. We are in the process looking for a place to invade for an after party.

Def a Saturday day. I once threw a Thursday night party for my birthday and everyone left by 10pm b/c of work. I was totally bummed.

Definitely Saturday for all the reasons above. Plus if you all want to continue celebrating you can continue to stay at the restuarant on a cash bar basis or move to a new location

id definitly go with the saturday. i think thursday would be a lil inconvenient for people, rushing after work then waking up for work the next day.
i dont think saturday would be awkward for people at all. a party is a party and they'll have fun either way.
