What helped us was that when I went online and the chat comes up where you can speak to a representative. He or she would quesiton me on what type of honeymoon fh and I wanted, bc I stated how we weren't sure of which island. I think St. Lucia is more lively maybe even has more to do bc you can go to the other sandals resorts there, antigua possibly a little more low key. Oh also St. Lucia has golf included. My parents have gone to the bahamas one and my aunt and uncle. My aunt and uncle are pretty educated on the Sandals resorts and recommended Antigua to us. I would check the chat out or just search reviews online for each one and see which fits what you want the most.

Well we knew we wanted to go to St.Lucia, so obviously that narrowed it down a lot. Then when i saw that the Regency had a golf course as well. That was our big seller FH loves to golf.

The reason we picked st. lucia 1. Its gorgeous 2. we really liked the villa's that they had at that location 3. you can go to ANY of the st.lucia resorts and eat at any restuarant 4. The spa 5. the flight there wouldnt be as bad for us as the antigua one (he has never flown before and I havent flown in almost 6 years...we both need to take some kind of pill before we fly to help relax us...) 6.we have heard nothing but great reviews about st lucia and how gorgeous it is

we were deciding between st. lucia and antigua but decided to go with antigua since:
1) the flight to st. lucia was longer
and
2) there's a 2 hour travel time from the st. lucia airport to the sandals resorts

We did not want to deal with all that travel time!

I asked a travel agent about the 2 hour drive. There are actually 2 airports in St.Lucia. One which is 2 hours away, and another that is about 20 minutes away. Only downfall to the one closer to the resorts is that there are no direct flights you have to have s top over and it is usually in Miami

Thanks Guys! I still don't know. I am def gonna go home and talk to FH and see what he says.

I wanna book b/c of the amazing deal..but I'm one of those people that will keep second guessing myself lol.

I am thinking either St. Lucia, Antigua, or Bahamas.

I really like that you can 'sandal hop' to the other resorts in St. Lucia.

Also, are any of you getting non suite rooms?

I actually just had this conversation with one of my BMs. She said Bahamas was the best. She went to St. Lucia for her honeymoon because everyone recommended it as a honeymoon spot, but she said she was completely bored. Her and her hubby were used to traveling to Sandals resorts together so they were expecting lots of stuff to keep them occupied. She said everything closed down at like 9 or 930, and that the entertainment was a saxaphone player. She did say St. Lucia was absolutely gorgeous though.

we are going to Sandals Grande. We were planning on going this year but then we got engaged and said we will go bigger next year, so we are getting the private hut on the beach!

FH and I really want to go to St. Lucia Sandals. We thought we still had a bunch of time to book but I see a lot of you have already booked for your 2010 weddings. Do you think I need to get on the honeymoon thing now?? Also, do you pay in full when you book? One more ? is it better to go through a travel agent or through Sandals directly?

Hi date twin!! For our date, the sooner you book the better...There are alot of vendors/honeymoon spots for our date that are already booked. Its a very popular wedding date and you are going to find alot of couples going to places like Sandal's for their honeymoon...I didnt think we had to book it so soon, but when I looked into it the other day i realized that things are starting to book up FAST...

I actually booked mine I think 2 weeks ago thinking it was the last day and then they extended it again too. So, you at least have the extra 14 days to think about it more, but I bet even after that it will be extended again.

As for how to book, I went right through the sandals website just because it was easy and I was chatting with an actual Sandals representative as I did so I was comfortable. However, I'm sure it can't hurt to go through a travel agent, especially because now you have an extra 2 weeks. It's totally up to you.

About the deal, this is what made us do it right away, it really is a win/win situation. You do not have to pay in full at all until 45 days before the trip, just check off the hold option. All you need to put down right now is $400, fh and I also purchased the travel insurance through them which is fabulous, you can cancel the day before if need be. That was 200 extra but totally worth it. Also if for some reason there is a better deal than now (which I bet is impossible lol) and you have not paid in full yet, (which who would with the hold option) they will honor the new discount for you and lower your balance.

HTH!
