a) Weddings are more than tossed bouquets and rice. . . In lieu of a guest book, we ask for your well wishes and advice. Please grab a pen and some paper. . . write what you wish. Just remember to sign your name before putting it in the dish. And when this day has long some to its end, a book we will have that's written by all our dear family and friends.
b) Please craft a note for the bride and groom
**I like what the first one says. But I'm afraid that it might be too long. I don't want people to have to spend too much time reading it.
TIA

I like the first one but I know my guests - they would be headed straight for the the food and drink, and probably wouldn't stop to read something that long.

I like the first one. If it is written out like a poem (line by line) instead of a paragraph I don't think it will be too wordy. People will scan it, get the idea and write. It seems a little friendlier too.

We are using something a little shorter. Maybe this will help you: Please write your thoughts and gestures to share with us for life. For the greatest gift of all will be the gift of your advice.

Re: Which saying do you think is better?
I picked A...especially if you are doing it in lieu of a guest book...if you do that saying on a letterhead (8 1/2 x 11) piece of paper to make a sign out of it, it's perfect. It would also work as a sign on each table....

Maybe something shorter than A, longer than B. I'm not much help.
