Ladies - I know when my Shower is but they have not sent out the invitations yet - They are supposed to be going out sometime this week. I am ready to send out my first batch of wedding invitations - Should I wait until the shower invitations go out or does it matter??

Re: Which should be sent first?
i don't think it matters, especially if the shower is only a month or two before the wedding. i say send out your invites now and start stalking the mailman!!
I think you should send them out. As you can tell people have a hard time RSVPing by the date so the sooner the better!

Does it matter when rehearsal invitations are send - I keep hearing different things from different people

I'd like to know that too...but since I didn't send my wedding invites out yet, I'm obviously waiting to send that first. But you probably don't need as much lead time on rehearsal dinner rsvp's anyway... most of those people will probably be there for the rehearsal anyway.

Your wedding invites are more important. Send them out. Remember, you are not supposed to know about your shower, so how are you to know when those invites went out ?

I only know the date - that is it - and I know about the invitations because my mom told me (she has problems hiding things from me)

Re: Which should be sent first? PART II Question
Shower invitations sometimes go out before the wedding invite, but that's usually because the shower is held 2-3 months before the wedding.
Put it this way:
Send your invites about 8 weeks before your wedding date
Shower invites should be mailed about 4 weeks before the shower date.
Doesn't matter which goes first, so long as it's within the 'send within' time period.
For rehearsal dinner invitations, some people send them WITH their invitations (to those that are supposed to go to the rehearsal only, of course). If you don't, just send them 3-4 weeks before the date of the rehearsal.
HTH!

I don't think it matters. I am sending my invites out tomorrow & I have no idea when my shower is.....(nothing has come off my registry yet
But i do think that they are trying to plan it for my birthday which is 7/8. We'll see....
