Which supermarket do you prefer and why?

Original post by Valentinegirl

I am moving next month and there is a King Kullen and Walbumns really close and a Stop n Shop and Pathmark a little bit further. I tried King Kullen last night and didn't like it. Do you like Walbumns? Thanks all!

Stop and Shop cuz they have the best produce and the sales are pretty good.
Pathmark has the lowest prices, but there isn't one close by and the nearest one is nasty.
I love Fairway, go there when I want really good quality meat or cheeses.
You have to take into consideration the stores nearest you, though.
There is a Pathmark by my job that is awesome with great produce, but the Shoprite's there are not so nice.
I would say check them out and find the one that you like the best.

We have Waldbaum's and STop & Shop by us and I'll shop depending on the sales....I'll even split my shopping if the sales are that good!!!

I've never really tried Pathmark, but I know thye have that Can-Can sale when everything in cans are on sale and I'd stock up then!!

I work in Pathmark, The can can sale store is Shop Rite not Pathmark.

i like the stop and shop on hempstead turnpike near the target in levittown. its in between the king kullen which is small and the pathmark that i always find a lil messy and too crowded,

I don't like Waldbaums because they don't have Boars HEad cold cuts. I like Stop and Shop the best, but I go to Key Food the most because it is right near my house.

Me too! I also avoid Waldbaum's b/c of the no Boards Head. Otherwise I think they'd be pretty good.

I like King Kullen. I like when the sprinklers come on in produce.

Wegmans upstate kicks a$$...

I hear there is one somewhere in Jersey, but I forget where...

Yes Wegmans is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, Wegmans is definitely the best! There is one in Princeton too...Around here I like Stop and Shop, because it is the cleanest and newest near me, and they have the check yourself out register so you don't have to wait on line...

Where are you moving too?
the stores can vary - Especailly King Kullen's. THe one in Betpage has always ben so so but htety are re-doing it now. The one in Hicksville is a little better. My mom goes bewtween KK 7 waldbaum's but agrees with Julz abotu the cold cuts.

I used to go to A&P b/c it's walkign distance, but it is awful ( tiny, poorly laid out, awful meat & produce)

Then we went to food emporium, but it was too expensive, the Super Stop & Shop opended. It's the best of my options, but a little hard to navigate b/c its so huge & sometimes the same type of thing can be in 3 different places.

Now ther eis a n ew Super stop & shop 7 FH goes on his way hoem from work, so i dont' go to any supermarket at all

I do go to Whole foods by work soemtimes for lunch though.

In Astoria I used to go to C-Town. It was great. Especially since most of the local supermarkets ( Trade Fair, key Food, Associated) were gross!

Super Shop and Stop by far is the best...
