Which vendor was the hardest to negotiate $$$ with?

Which vendor was the hardest to negotiate $$$ with?

I realized that most vendors are willing to work with you or even drop the price a little. Which vendors did you think was the hardest to negotiate with? Did they have a specific package they wanted to stick to? Or did you find it easier to negotiate when it's less than 6 months to the wedding date?

RH, definitely. I tried hard, though! I'd say, 'other places we looked at waived this fee if we put down a bigger deposit,' and he'd shrug and say, 'well, we don't do that.' After hearing that four times, I just stopped trying. Grr! He's lucky his place is perfect (which is why he can charge whatever he wants, I guess!).

I totally agree. I offered to pay everything in cash and leave a bigger deposit. They wouldn't budge. Well that's not 100% true they threw in some seafood salad thingy, that I didn't even notice at the CH. We upgraded a lot like adding the VH and adding the chocolate fountain that wasn't included in the VH we also added the raw bar at the CH. All of which added up to $$$ I think it increased our PP cost before tax by $35. However I would not trade my RH for any other that would have lowered the price.

yea so far all other vendors that i spoke to were negotiable- but reception hall- NOT AT ALL!

I basically shopped around a lot until I found vendors that were in my price range, rather than trying to talk them down once I booked. I guess I'm not good at that, but we did pretty well in the end!

I must have exceptional vendors because they all were willing to negotiate. My RH neg. price per person, photographer negotiated, DJ was willing to negotiate if I got a bigger package. I guess I did good

My RH was awesome to bargain with, we got a great price. But the photographer was a bit difficult. We loved their work and prices were reasonable, so even though they didn't drop the price much, we still booked them.

We negotiated with everyone but the travel agent who booked the honeymoon

what a great thread. we didn't negotiate price w/ the RH, but they voluntarily came down on the guarantee and offered to throw in a viennese table if we did the raw bar.

I negotiated big time with the RH and florist. I didn't negotiate with my DJ, because I felt that I had done my research, and what he was offering was the right price in comparison with other DJ's. My photog is a family friend...so no negotiating there.

I wouldn't say that the RH or florist were VERY hard to negotiate with, but I did have to push a bit on each, and give them my bottom line...which is definately not me...but it worked. I'm usually quite shy.

i agree, so far i have talked every vendor down including RH, i just kept looking like i was willing to walk and they would talk until i sat back down...hey, it worked!!! Lol

the priest. I negotiated everyone else dwon a bit, but i just felt too weird trying to negotiate with a priest... lol.

The first RH we looked at hence the reason we didnt go with them and they were so rude about it also- everyone else was negoitable - i didnt bother to negoiate with the flowers becuase I was very happy with them and thought their prices were appropiate for their type of work
