I have the same type of e ring, I went with a simple diamond band and I am also getting a pain band for work (i'm an RN). So I guess my answer is diamond.

Wear both during your ceremony and have both blessed.
There are times in your life when you won't be comfortable wearing a diamond eternity band....like if you're traveling, going to be at the beach a lot, etc.... that's when you can wear the plain band!
