We are having a fall themed wedding. Our church will not let us throw anything outside the church, but I did get the preist to agree to let us throw real fall leaves. I am starting to think that since it is getting closer it is going to be alot to collect 1000 leaves from outside. So my question is should I go ahead with the leaf idea or do bubbles???

I LOVE the idea of fall leaves BUT when I met with my florist he suggested rose petals b/c when you throw leaves,...they dont go very far.....he said i will be disappointed because leaves dont go far...

I like the leaf idea but I just dont see it having the effect you would like it to have. So i say go with the bubbles

what about silk leaves instead of collecting real ones?
Collecting that many real leaves my be a problem. I'd go with bubbles.

Is the priest only ok with real leaves or can you go the artifical route? I think collecting, cleaning, and storing might be a little bit stress inducing. If he is ok with artifical leaves I recommend checking out CVS. I bought three huge tubes for $2.99 each. Check out my engagement party album for pictures of the leaves. HTH

Unless they are real the priest said bubbles only. This is why I am so torn. Thanks anyway though.

First I voted for leaves, but after reading you should do the bubbles. They will look great in pics too, I've seen some great pics w bubbles. Try not to stress on it too much , that day it won't matter at all.

I would say bubbles..what church won't let you throw natural flower petals? And what happenes if someone 'Happens' to hand out petals at the ceremony?

my vote is for leaves... theres gotta be someplace out there that carries real dried autumn leaves. If you cant find a place, then do bubbles as I cant imagine raking up huge piles of leaves to be on your to-do list before the wedding!

I voted for the leaves. I think that is such a different idea. If you want to see how it would look take a test picture. Grab some leaves, try them by putting them in between pages of a book and take pictures of someone throwing them as they would be doing at the wedding. You can ask your local elementary school or religious education classes to collect the leaves for you as a class project.
