Hi everyone! I'm Liz and fairly new to the boards. I'm getting married in 18 days(!) and I love reading your stories, seeing pictures, and getting great ideas to bring to our wedding!
So, my first QOTD:
Does your wedding have a theme? If so, what is it, and what are you incorporating into the day to show that theme (i.e. accessories, colors)?
I started off without an actual theme, but as time went on, it has evolved into 'Fall in Love', with lots of fall colors (reds, burgundy, burnt orange) and gold accessories - like picture frames, the pedestal dishes holding the flowers, my flowers themselves, the bathroom baskets (sprayed gold). I really wanted to capitalize on the season, as fall is our favorite!
I'd love to hear about yours!!!

Seriously, I think ours is just elegance. There is not real theme. I dont have colors. We just picked things that worked together that reflected elegance.

Hi Liz! Your getting married so soon! Yay!
As far as 'themes' go, we didn't really have one, except I wanted to make it as 'spring-like' as possible, since that's my favorite season. So even though we got married in July, our colors were pale mint green and lavender. We did a bubbles introduction as Mr & Mrs which I loved! And I sort of did a 'green' theme as far as giving out the reusable grocery bags that say 'Saving the World One Bag at a Time' on them.

we didnt really have a theme, just wanted everything to have our colors in it... which was tiffany blue and ocean blue!

My theme is old world venetian mystery...my invitation designer probably described it best, 'mysterious elegance'. It's holiday time, so I wanted some element of the holidays, but I didn't want traditional red, white, green Christmasy, or wintery blues and silvers, so I went for a deeper, richer feel with Burgundy, Ivory, and Gold. Still season appropriate, but a little deeper. I'm incorporating some venetian elements in to the decor with scroll patterns, lace patterns, jewel tones and candles, and of course, my Ventian masks that are going to be at the sweetheart table and in front of the cake. I want the entire effect to be a little vampy, a little dark, a little 'off'...I loved the theme of Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro's wedding, and I tried to emulate that to a degree, but not going as overkill freaky.

We had a beach theme. I tried to tie in my aqua/red color scheme as much as possible

We also had a beach theme and tried to pick colors that reminded us of a sunset...coral/orange, salmon - w/ accents of turquoise to represent the water. It tied together so beautifully.

I'm also doing a fall theme since it's my favorite season as well.
The BM dresses are deep brown. I have gold accents and the flowers are deep burgundys, golds, etc.
Think fall leaves................

Winter/snowflake elegance - merlots and pale greens, and crystally snowflake elements. No Christmas colors, but the real winter feel.

Our theme was the Fall. Our invites were brown,ivory,gold and a bit of orange, i put leaves on the invite to incorporate the theme. The menus also had the same leaf, the place cards were a orange leaf, i named our tables after trees, our flowers were rich orange,ivory and some green. My BM dresses were chocolate brown and their purses were chocolate brown and orange.

well im getting married in dec so im using whites and reds for the bm's flowers and a darker red for their dress. im also using alot of golds and ivorys. i reallly want the feeling to be elegant but cozy and intimate. i have a huge fam and could have easily invited alott more people but i wanted to keep it semi smalller lol.

My theme was a romantic/retro feel. I wanted candlelight EVERYWHERE! I used records as part of my centerpeices...damask everything...and my colors were black and white with dark green accents. I LOVED how everything turned out. Your theme sounds great...fall colors are SO beautiful!

aww thanks :) FH's aunt is a florist and my wedding day will be the first day I see my flowers! I'm dying to see them!!!

My theme is sort of winter wonderland. I am getting married the day after Christmas. So my colors are ice blue and platinum, with snowflakes on everything that I could . Tried to stay away from the traditional Christmas colrs

I'm doing a winter feel!! Yup for my technical fall wedding... we will go offbeat and do winter!!
My colors are Royal Blue and White... with some other various shades of blue. We have some snowflakes throughout. But not too many snowflakes... just where it counts!!
