While we're on the subject of limos....

While we're on the subject of limos....

This whole overtime thing has opened up a series of questions for me.

Here's my situation:

Church ceremony begins at 3pm. I am 4 blocks away from my church. I would like to rent a rolls and a 10 passenger. My FH is less than 2 miles from my house and I was hoping the 10 passenger can pick him and his guys up, drop them at the church then come over and pick my girls up. My dad and I will ride to the church in the rolls.

Ceremony should last an hour. My cocktail hour does not begin until 7, however we can arrive at 6:30 and maybe even earlier (unless there is a wedding before us). My photographer said we can go to a place after the ceremony for pictures before heading over to the hall.

I don't think I can get this all in for the 3 hour time. Can I book 4 hours ahead of time, maybe for a negotiated price or something? Knowing full well that I need more than 3 hours, do you think limo companies would be willing to charge a price a little higher than their published 3 hour, but not as much for the OT? I'm just trying to plan ahead.

Thanks

I did something similiar - minus the rolls. The limo picked up the guys, dropped them off at church and then picked us up. We had hours before the reception so we rented the car for 5 hours. I called around - some strictly charge the OT cost, others will quote you a price/deal beyond the 3 hour package. We used NJL.

most will charge the OT for the hour, but maybe they can throw in a ride to the airport or give you a few dollars off if you haggle. We are getting a party bua with the extra hour, and doing the same thing - its picking up FH and boys, then the girls. after the pics and dropping us off at the hall, it is even going to the hotel to bring the guest to the reception, so we needed an extra hour too. good luck!

We booked 4 hours for our limos. Much cheaper to do it this way than to pay for OT. (Its not OT unless you haven't arranged for it before) We booked with Royalty and there wasn't a huge price difference between a 3 hour package and a 4.

Karen,
I am doing the SAME thing as you except with a rolls and a limouinse bus.
My hours are the same, ceremony at 3-for 1 hour, and cocktail hour at 6:30. Fh will be where we live and I, at moms, both 5 blocks away from Church.
Book the extra over time! I can't stress this enough. Even if you don't use it, it's there.
Your limo company should, with no problem, help you add th eextra hour, if they charge shouldn't be alot) but it's so well worth it. Call them and ask them to see what their prices and policies are.

Pay your limousine deposit by credit card only!
You may need a new, clean credit card for deposits, don't EVER pay cash. If the deal goes south, you'll never get your cash back, but you can dispute a credit charge.
