does your FH whine a lot about the cost of the wedding?
My FH is alwaysssss whining about the cost
yesterday he started whining about the EParty...that it's a waste of money and that we could have used the money towards one of the vendors
and yes he is right, its def not necessary
but its FUN! and part of the whole process!! and i want to enjoy every moment of the engagement, and do allll the things you can only do when you're engaged and getting married
he whines about the cost of my dress
and now he is whining about the cost of photography
helllllloooo this is why i wanted to go away and get married!
anyway...just needed to vent and wanted to make sure i wasn't alone!

Re: whiney FH
aw, i'm sorry to hear the the FH is whining so much...
i actually lucked out and my FH is actually very willing to do everything i ask. go to showcases, visit vendors, etc... and recently, he asked that we keep open tabs on the budget so that he puts in his fair share...
i hope your FH comes around soon and realizes that the wedding will be what you make of it! and the cost def makes a difference~

Tell your FH to shut his pie-hole, that's what my FH keeps telling me!
You're only going to do this once, so do it right!

Re: whiney FH
I think guys get like that because they know in the long run they are goin to have to pay the bill and take care of us. Unless of course the woman makes more money. He prob just is concerned about the cost - guys don't get it the way we are with certain things =)

Re: whiney FH
FH won't whine, his eyes will just bug out of his head. He has to love something then he won't complain about the cost. For example: I told him average photog will probably be around 5000-6000 and he thought it was nuts. Then we went to meet the photog and he wouldn't look at anyone else! same thing happened with our venue...before I showed it to him he said it was out of our budget but I made him LOVE IT and he was like 'its so purdy'
whatta nerd!

Re: whiney FH
I am sorry honey.... So far, no complains from FH. But then again, We have NOT start to book anything for our wedding. But regrding the E-party, We have both agree to our budget and So fart, Food, Invitations & decorations are within Our Budget So we have not gone over our Budget....
I think the same thing will be for the wedding, I have my 'feet on the ground' So i know what I am able to spend... I have a very low budget wedding so I dont think We will be whining about prices...
Sorry though....

Re: whiney FH
our parents couldn't afford to give us an engagement party and we ween't going to waste that money when we could put it towards the wedding itself so we nixed the party.
but other than that, my FH is telling me to spend money!!! and i'm the one telling him to cut back!

Re: whiney FH
the only thing he made any comment about regarding cost was the florist and I put that sh*t to rest real quick because I didn't even spend as much as we budgeted for the florist and FH was the one who went $1100 ovber our DJ budget so he just shut his mouth real quick LOL

Re: whiney FH
What's funny is that...he whines about the money...but HE is the one spending it...
he wants a plasma TV at our EParty, to do zap shots, show our engagement video etc
and he wanted the more expensive hall, where as i was willing to go with something a little cheaper

ME TOO!!! I keep telling FH that we should go to city hall and then out to dinner with 40 of the closest. I love the idea of a wedding if someone else was paying. I can't get over spending sooooo much money. Like my FH tells me, you don't wat to regret not making your wedding the way you want it.

Re: whiney FH
I got around this by budgeting wayyy up from the get-go.
I budgeted $7K for flowers so when we came in at $4K, he thought we got a 'steal.'
The only thing he complained about really (so far) was the band which was $7K but I just explained to him that the type of DJ we wanted would have been about $3500 anyway, so we might as well splurge. FH is a musician so music was really important to him anyway.
And also, b/c I'm doing everything basically, I don't tell him how much things cost unless he asks. Men just can't handle the big numbers the way that we do

Re: whiney FH
And it also helped a lot that my cousin had a $200K wedding in 2006 so when I told him that they spent $18K on a band, $7K was also a 'steal.'

my grandmother was so upset with me on easter when she found out that we were having an e-party. She said that 'in her day they only had a shower and that's it!' Understandable, but it's not 1954 LOL
but my FH doesn't whine about the money. It's more like I am the one who doesn't want to drop $500 here and $1000 there. But it's necessary
