Do you ladies have any pics of whip cream frosted wedding cakes as opposed to fondant or buttercream? My BM suggested that I get a whip cream cake bec I hate buttercream --instead of spending $ on an upgrade fondant cake being that I am having a full vienesse hour.
I never tasted a cake like this either so if you ladies have I would love honest opinions as to what you think??????

We are having whipped cream frosting-just like the middle cake on the bottom row of the pic.
Edit: Pic in album under Finishing Touches.

i'm not a baker so i really have no idea, but i THINK whipped cream needs to be refridgerated so i'm not sure how long you can display your cake for...if you planned on doing that.

I think this is true... If you get a cake with whipped cream frosting, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to display it long and would probably have it out for just the cake cutting... but check with your banquet manager just to be sure

We had whipped cream and our cake was displayed the entire night. I always get whipped cream frosting b/c I hate butter cream.

i was reading about them and theres a way to make them by mixing gelatin in it and it keeps it hard. BM actually said whip cream is a very popular choice who knows.

Re: Whip Cream Frosted Wedding cake???
I am going to have whipped cream frosting on my cake...I am not married yet (38 days...) so I can't give you a pic. Ask your bakery to show you pics... I am getting married in Oct when it isn't hot and indoors, so it won't be a problem. They do add gelatin to stablize the cream in a lot of places.. I HATE buttercream and fondant so it was the only option for us...and I can't wait.
