Whipped Cream or butter cream.....

Which one will be the better choice and wil hold up and taste good after sitting outside for dinner/cocktail hour. etc?!

We visited a reception hall yesterday who said they make their own cakes and they make it out of whipped cream.... I just read today, that it doesn't hold up as well... Please help!!!! Should I ok this or have someone else make it?!

Opinions please!!!!!

I love whipped cream but not for a wedding cake Butter cream will hold more JMO

I was told that we could either use fondant or butter cream for our wedding. They said we can't have whipped cream bc August is too hot and won't hold

Yeah any occasion we have we use buttercream for the same reason.

Whipped cream tastes better, butter cream holds up well. And IMO, taste great also.

Better cream will hold up better.

I'd go with buttercream....whipped cream can't hold up that well for that long.....

I think the deal is that it won't hold if it is not refrigerated. But if it is, it will be fine.

to my knowledge butter cream stays longer. a bakery could guide you if you want to triple check.

We're having whipped cream because it tastes better, IMO, than butter cream. Just have them not bring it out until shortly before cutting it and this isn't an issue.

butter cream will def hold up moer than whipped. Whipped cream should not be out for a long period of time.

Thanks so much ladies! If it tastes good, then it'll have to 'hide' until we're ready to cut it and eat it!!! lol

I love whipped cream! Not a huge fan of butter cream... So hopefully my hall does whipped cause they are doing the cake. And I don't mind the cake being hidden, then no one will fall into it.
