Okay, so I have been looking for my wedding dress, for what seems like forever.. but it's really only been a couple of months. I feel as though I have tried on at least fifty dresses and really can't make a decision...
I found one dress which I really really liked but it wasn't pure white... the designer (Pronovias) doesn't make pure white.. they call it 'off white' but I felt like it had a dingy yellowish tint to it.
I than went to Lillette's and tried on a pure white dress and LOVED it!! - I did find a dress there that i also really really liked (i think more than the first one) and it comes in pure white...
but after speaking to some of the people that work in the two places, some say white is beautiful and will look good on me with my dark hair and complexion while others say well if the dress isn't pure white, you can't tell the difference in pictures and its till looks beautiful...
I am sooo confused and I think this is why it has been difficult for me to make a decision on a dress... I don't want a dress that looks dingy or that people can tell it isn't white... ughh!! This has made me so frustrated and I don't know what to do....
Any suggestions or opinions???? Please help me Girls!!

i can definitly see why it's frustrating! u dont wanna spend money on a dress that ure not gonna love or that u think will look bad on the day of or in pics. With that said..... my dress is ivory lol. i was thinkin of how it'll look in pics, etc etc. With the help of one of my bm's she told me to make the dress not look dull or yellowish that the guys tuxedo shirts should also be ivory. ivory next to white it gonna look like my dress is old and yellow. so.......... with that, i am having nothing be white in the wedding. no white tableclothes, no white flowers, and whatever else i can think of lol. i hope this kinda helps you out. gl !!

Thanks so much for the response... yes it is difficult because both the Ivory and white, to my eye, look very similiar, but once I was told that it wasn't pure white.. i got like this sinking feeling in my stomach because I always dreamed of that white dress on my wedding day... ugh -
I want to have a dress that I LOVE - and I don't know when that will happen or what I will feel.. I have my mom, FMIL, Sister in law and MOH with me when trying dresses on, so I value their opinions, but I need to make the right decision for me.. it's just hard....

A lot of people wear ivory gowns now, it all depends on personal preference.
With that said, my gown is WHITE - pure white. I tried on a gown in ivory that I really liked, but if I ordered it, I would've ordered it in white. I didn't like the ivory on me. I, like you, have dark hair, dark eyes, and olive complexion. I felt the ivory was just too dull on me. But then I found my gown, and the sample I tried was in white and I was floored!

Thanks for the response!! .. Maybe that was my first problem.. going in looking at dresses with a very open mind - not stating specifically what I wanted.. but I didn't know that a lot of the samples are only ordered in ivory or cream and very rarely in pure white...
When I went to Lillette's the women that helped me made me aware that there are many different shades of white, so its all a matter of what designer allows the option of pure white...
It's just hard to vizualize it all if the dress you try on and fall in love with isn't the white you are looking for - because than that's my next issue..... what if I don't like it when it comes in!!!????

I ordered my dress in ivory bc I have fair skin and think it looks MUCH better on me. I think it really depends on ur complexion

I think both white and ivory look great. It just depends on personal preference. THey both are very popular. As for being nervous that you wont like it when it comes in...ask to see another dress by the same designer in the ivory so you can see what their ivory looks like...just an idea

I always thought I wanted a white wedding gown, but the dress I fell in love with was Ivory when i tried it on at the store. When I went online to look at it in white, I wasnt as impressed. I wound up ordering the ivory one and love it!!! So... I would go with what you like best - regardless of color. you want to feel gorgeous on your special day!

I didn't think I would be this confused when it came to the wedding dress... just a lot to take in and think about.. and again, being an indecisive person does not help me at all..haha!
I just want to make the right choice for myself.. I want to feel and look beautiful, sexy, classy, and classic all at once...
