I just got back from trying on wedding gowns and the ones that seemed to look the nicest on me were off white. Now you really couldn't tell but then the lady said the guys would have to wear cream shirts and the offwhite dress against anything white would have a dirty look to it. What are your thoughts on white versus offwhite?

mine was diamond white, but it ws silk and silk cannot be pure white. i am also very fair-skinned (see picture in avatar if you don't believe me) and white against my skin is not pretty in pictures.....i have looked naked on more than one occassion when i've been photographed wearing a t-shirt
and as far as the men's shirts...unless your gown is ivory, white shirts will look fine next to a not pure white dress

I think if you have an off white dress the guys should be off white as well... A white shirt on a guy may give your dress the appearance that is it dirty...

My dress was ivory. It looks better with my complexion. DH did wear an ivory shirt.

My dress is Ivory also. It looked MUCH better on my fair complection! the white looked too washed out on me! and yes, I will have the GM wear Ivory shirts, but unless you put them right up to a white dress, you wouldn't even know my dress was ivory. Plus, i think it looks very classy!

My dress is off-white and is silk. I found the pure white gowns to be too stark and artificial for me.
If off-white looks best on you, then that's what you should wear.

Off white is the hot color right now including diamond white. So do feek pressured to wear white.
