White Roses

White Roses

Ok girls. I've been to see two highly recommended florists off this site and have gotten some conflicting information. I really want to have white and ivory roses in my bo-k. One florist told me that white roses bruise very easily and that I should only use ivory. The other florist told me that that info was not true. She said that high quality white roses would not become bruised. Does anyone know which info is true? Anyone use white roses in their or their BM's bo-ks? Can you post pics? Thanks! I really want to get a florsit booked ASAP..it's driving me crazy

I'm using white roses and never even thought of that!

But i do know that they will spray your flowers with something before they are delivered, to keep them fresh and keep the color nice!

I'd never heard that before .... but I am probably doing ivory roses.

Maybe try posting on the 06 board?

I never heard of that. I have seen a lot of pics of white roses and I haven't seen anything wrong w/ the flowers. I think that if they're fresh, they should be fine.

Re: White Roses

Both florists in my family have said most white roses do not last for very long time and deff. yes they bruise easily as the day goes on. If they are fesh fresh they will last for deff. the cremony and pics but reception they start to show browness.

Then again they have seen some intances where they last the entire night.

I have also heard that white roses bruise very easy. If you really want white roses, think about just using silk for the white ones. Thats what i'm doing.

Re: White Roses

mine lasted fine. a few got a little brown by the end of the night...but i had a 10am church...so by 10pm the wedding was long over.

they will last fine for the wedding so don't worry. afterwards is a different story.

i had my bo-k preserved and they just cut off the brown spots and you never would have known they were there! so if you're worried about that, they will take care of it

Re: White Roses

in my experience white roses dont bruise any quicker than ivory roses - however both white and ivory bruise quicker than darker colored roses.as long as the florist uses a good quality rose that is hydrated correctly you shouldnt have any problems with browning until later in the day. however if you are having a outdoor wedding - constant exposure to sunlight will increase the liklihood of your white flowers browning - but this rule applies for all light colored flowers..good luck!
