We did this one! It was AWESOME!!!! We rented some cabins for like $13/person. Went in May, had some nice rapids. A couple people fell out and almost drowned so it wasn't just a nice ride down a lazy river.
The whole bucket thing was fun - we had a good guide though and a good group (we were a rowdy bunch).

Ok...now this: we really can't afford to go on a honeymoon, but I was going to use my stimulus check and book this. There is a place in Lake George that includes 2 nights at a nice hotel, 2 breakfasts and ww trip for $204 pp. Is it good during the last week of July or should I do DWater Gap.
Gabbie thanks for the heads up for Jim Thorpe.

Go almost every summer! Tons of fun. We go with Jim Thorpe every year and we go when there's a dam release. We usually go in a big group so it's really fun when everyone tries to get everyone else wet.

I went in Colorado and it was really fun.
(Although it wasnt very rapid-y.....it was too early in the season...but that is fine with me...I am a scardy cat!)

Re: White water rafting
I go on the delaware every memorial day. there are a few rapids when we go - i went once in summer and once in fall, can't remember how different the rapids were. it all depends on how high the river - and this is true, i think, for any river. if there was a lot of rain recently, the river will be high and you won't feel the rapids as much because rapids are caused, mostly i think, by water moving around rocks. if the water is high, the water just coasts over the rocks and you have less, if any, rapids.
you can call any of the river companies and ask them what class the river is, or the area you are going to go on. the delaware where we go is a class 1, maybe a 2 in some spots. class 5 is the huge rapids you see on tv shows, etc. class 2 is finnnnne for me. they are a little scary. :)
if you decide to go to pa - there is a cute town called milford that you can stay in. there is a place nearby called the dimmick inn which is nice, wraparound porch, etc. I think there is a place called the milford inn too. and you should go rafting with kittatinny canoes. good co., i've been going on the river with them for 8 years. (best trip i think is from barryville to pond eddy, or pond eddy to matamoras - those are the 'bases').
