This is embarrassing but my mom named me after the character who shot JR on Dallas. She thought she was pretty or something.

Re: Who are you named after?

I'm not named after anyone. My mom just always liked the name 'Melissa.'

My middle name 'Bernadette' is after my great-grandmother (my mother's grandma).

Re: Who are you named after?

My grandpa was Irish and my parents wanted to find an Irish name. They both like Alannah and loved the Irish way of spelling it.

Re: Who are you named after?

When my mom was younger there was girl named Jeanne Marie and she absolutely loved the name....and it just so happens that my fathers mother (my grandmother)'s name is Jeanne and her daughter is Marie. So they bother loved the name.
