my next vendor search is for a florist. but i'm not sure where to start. I'm on a tight budget, so need someone who can work with me. Any suggestions?

Try Burton's. I am going to check them out and I hear that they are very reasonable :)

I went to three and I will tell you where they stood since you're on a budget. Flower Michele was the highest, not even close to my other quotes. Then came Burton's, who was very reasonable and Verbena was onle $100 more. I just liked Jen from Verbena more and liked that she gave me a detailed contract from which I can add or delete things. She also does one wedding a day.
My friend who is on a super budget went with her too.

Spitz and Peck - they might have a reputation for being expensive but they fit my budget easily. they were super accommodating too.

I used Flowers by Brian; had absolutely beautiful flowers for the wedding and they were budget friendly as well!

My florist was expensive so I wouldn't recommend them for this, but I would recommend Verbena Designs for sure!!! I've heard Jen is great and she is willing to work with most budgets and has really great ideas and designs.
ETA: Just noticed above poster used my florist and they worked with her budget. I don't know how big or small your budget is, but I guess it's worth a shot with them! I also used Spitz and Peck and they were great! I spent over 5K on flowers though.
