I did.
Thanks for the info.
After further research though I think we're going with Lamaze.

What's the basic difference between the two? I think Lamaze is mostly breathing and what is the Bradley method?

with bradley you dont depend on remembering different breathing techniques to get you through labor. I must say I do not know much about lamaze..but everyone I know said it was mostly about breathing techniques

bradley was a comprehensive course- i think ours was over 6 weeks..and they teach you what is happening to your body in each stage of pregnancy . the last 3 classes- more or less- spent on labor and delivery.
yes husbands are supposed to be true coaches in this...and dont be surprised= they can do more than you think- esp after this course. we had one guy who didnt want to even be int he room,,,as the course went on he admitted learning more about it and wanted to assist. in the end, he was by her side the whole time..and the labor nurse listened to the options the parents outlined..so it worked well for them

worked great for us.. I wasn't as afraid cuz I knew what steps my body was naturally going to go through. was also educated on all the diff drugs they offer and the side effects of all of them..so if we decided to do the epidural or any other drug it was an informed choice

in the end, I did not need to induce, did not use any drugs..used the coping techniques of breathing, walking, etc..
Did most of my labor STANDING up- that was most comfortable for me...and delivered julianne while on my hands and knees.. 9 agin most comfortable.

i dont think i could have managed as well without the bradley instruction

Re: WHO asked about the bradley method the other day??

Here's some of the stuff I found

Similarities

Both Bradley and Lamaze drew on the work of Dr. Grantley ****-Reed (sp) who was an English doctor, banished to South
Africa in the early part of this century for his efforts to promote
natural childbirth in England. Lamaze also drew from some work done
in Russia on natural childbirth, if I remember correctly. Bradley and Lamaze were both researching and experimenting with natural
childbirth in the 40's and 50's, if I remember correctly. Lamaze's work was widely promoted by a book 'Thank you, Dr. Lamaze', which enhanced its popularity. Bradley's work remained unknown to other
than his patients until the 1960's, when it began to be promoted
outside his own clinic.

Both methods rely on relaxation as their primary means of pain control
during labor. Both methods teach a variety of techinques for dealing with labor pain and different types of labor.

Both methods discuss the basics of labor and birth, and both methodsdiscuss how different labors may vary, complications, and cesareans.

Differences

The Bradley method's main focus is on natural childbirth - thus most
of its students are interested in learning to give birth without
medication. The Lamaze method would be better described as 'prepared'
childbirth. Although Bradley classes prepare women for natural birth,
students are adequately prepared for making the decision to use
medications or other interventions when they are indicated.

The Bradley method teaches a woman to focus inward and work with her
body during labor. The Lamaze method teaches breathing techniques and
other distraction techniques such as focal points, to distract a
woman from the pain during contractions.
