Its easier than youd think. I highly recommend starting with the Rachel Ray books, she is brilliant and her stuff is so easy!

Re: Who can??

I've been cooking since forever, and I love it. i come from a West Indian household where my dad hated left overs, and the microwave. So something was cooked everynight for him. if my mother couldn't do it, that;s where her two daughters stepped in

I can't. Any my FI's stipulation was that I have to learn how to cook 4 meals a month - 2 from my dad and 2 from his mom- since we got engaged and I haven't learned a thing and he keeps reminding me he won't marry me if I can't cook -- I'm calling his bluff!

Rachel Ray is great and i have some of her books, but every meal of hers i have made has taken me like 3x's as long to cook than she says so while her recipes are easy to follow and taste great give yourself more time.

Betty Crocker makes an easy to follow cook book as well.

I love cooking. My concern is for when I'll want FH to make dinner if he gets home earlier than me.

Yeah start watching the food network, it's amazing how much you'll pick up from just watching. Rachel Ray definitely keeps things simple.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT.. that little lady whips through chopping veggies so fast, Id lose a finger if I mimiced it!!!!!

I do notice that some of her stuff starts to taste the same too... but she is GREAT for learning things... one of my fave tips.. putting a lime in the microwave for 10 secs to get more juice out. I need that for mojitos!!!

I'm with Chrissy. I cook every night. Except for the occasional pizza Fridays. My FI loves his home cooked meals. His mother totally spoiled him. It's ok though, I love the shopping aspect of it too!! Left overs are always eaten here!!!

I enjoy cooking very much. I learned from my parents - I grew up in an Italian household so there was always lots of cooking going on.

I love cooking. If you aren't used to cooking or don't think you are good at it, there are good 7 ingredient cookbooks out there. They aren't easy per-say but there are less ingredients to deal with and it might make it easier.

I don't cook...FH loves to...when we first moved in together 3 years ago we made the deal that he cooks & I do the dishes...but i wil also mow the lawn & do all the laundry & clean the house.. so that counts for something, right???

Re: Who can??

i got lucky on this one. FH will eat ANYTHING - burnt, raw, whatever!!

and why do we automatically assume that wehave to know or learn how to cook - why cant FH cook??? I hate cooking and dont plan on doing very much of it - that's why they created restaurants and take-out!

Thank God FH cooks (and very well might I add) or we would starve to death!!

I can cook, I like to!! I dont cook everyday, like 3-4 times a week. I learned from my mother, she is a wonderful cook!
